Minister of Communications and Information Technology Yasser el Kady on Monday witnessed a signing ceremony of an agreement between the Egyptian Silicon Industries Co. (E-SICO) and Qualcomm.
The agreement aims to transfer the latest communications technology reached by the American company to the new Egyptian factory while maintaining the use rights of this technology.
President of Qualcomm Middle East and Africa Jihad Srage said his company believes in the future of the mobile communications equipment industry in Egypt.
He added that the new factory has an opportunity to export its products to the countries of the region and Africa.
E-SICO Chairman Mohamed Salem said the agreement authorizes the new factory in dealing with all telecom operators working in the Egyptian market and exporting to various countries worldwide
