Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr attended Thursday the opening session of an African meeting in Botswana's capital Gaborone.
Botswana's Vice President launched the opening session in the presence of ministers from 54 African countries and World Bank officials.
Th opening session discussed the African countries' keenness to coordinate their positions on various issues, in addition to promoting the African continent's common interests, including the need to drive international efforts towards combating poverty, supporting development and enhancing the social dimension in economic development.
On her part, Nasr demonstrated Egypt’s economic reform accomplishments and efforts to create an attractive investment climate, stating that providing job opportunities, developing poor areas, and fighting corruption were among the government's main reform objectives.
Achieving development requires complete integration between African countries in order to carry out mega projects, and attract investments, stating that Africa's natural resources provide a golden opportunity for human and economic development, she said.
