Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tareq Al Mollah expected Monday the executive regulation that organizes gas market to be issued within weeks.
In a conference on energy organized by Al Ahram institution Monday, he said the agency, which organizes gas market, will have an important role in monitoring the market as it will receive complaints from citizens.
The minister said the share of the foreign partner in Zohr gas field will be bought and that any surplus not needed in local oil market will be exported.
Mollah said that Egypt has 19 oil ports and that many of them are being developed and expanded to turn Egypt into a regional energy center.
The minister pointed out that Egypt has a strategy to cooperate with the European Union in the energy domain.
He said energy projects' revenues will have important effects on the country' national economy, bring back Egypt's regional and international role and secure Egypt's needs of energy supplies and foreign currency.
