Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi

President Sisi paid an official two-day visit to Cyprus on Monday and official reception was held for him at the Presidential Palace.

The reception was followed by a session of official talks with Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades. The talks focused on means to boost bilateral ties in the different domains and a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Sisi laid down a wreath on the memorial of late Cypriot president Makarios III inside the presidential palace in Nicosia. Meanwhile, Anastasiades granted Sisi the Order of Makarios III, which is the highest order of merit awarded to presidents in Cyprus. President Sisi, for his part, granted his Cypriot counterpart the Order of the Nile, which is Egypt's highest State honor.

Sisi and his Cypriot counterpart attended the inking of a number of cooperation agreements. In a joint press conference with his Cypriot counterpart, Sisi said it is the time for our peoples to maintain such relations through boosting cooperation between both sides in the various fields.
