Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi

Addressing the Cypriot parliament, President Sisi expressed Egypt's keenness on promoting cooperation between the two countries and efforts to settle the Cypriot problem in line with the relevant UN resolutions and international laws. He thanked Cyprus for supporting the will of the Egyptian people.

In his speech at the Egyptian-Cypriot business forum, the president said he is looking forward to building a strategic partnership with Cyprus that can help achieve an economic and technological progress. Sisi said the distinguished political relations between Egypt and Cyprus constitute a model to follow in the Mediterranean countries.

Sisi had talks on Tuesday with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on boosting bilateral ties and conditions in the Middle East and the Mediterranean regions.

During their meeting, they lauded the level of cooperation between Egypt and Greece, particularly after the launch of the tripartite cooperation mechanism between Egypt, Cyprus and Greece.

They also discussed the latest developments in the Middle East and the Mediterranean region, means of fighting terrorism and efforts exerted to settle regional crises.
