Speaking at a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron, Sisi thanked his French counterpart for the warm reception he received in Paris, praising historical relations between the two countries in all fields.
Sisi said his talks with Macron focused on means of boosting bilateral relations at the political, strategic, economic and cultural levels, as well as the Egyptian economic reform program.
Sisi added that he attended the signing ceremony of a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding worth 400 million euros in the fields of energy, infrastructure and transportation. An agreement was reached to declare 2019 a year of Egyptian-French culture and tourism to reflect the depth of cultural ties between the two countries, Sisi pointed out.
Also on Tuesday, Sisi met with French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe. The meeting dealt with a number of files of mutual interest and ways to boost bilateral relations and economic cooperation.
Meanwhile, Sisi met with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and discussed the latest developments in the Middle East, notably the crises in Libya, Syria, Iraq and the fight against terrorism.
