Singapore’s President Tony Tan arrived Sunday in Cairo on a three-day visit, the first of its kind in 20 years.
The visit coincides with the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between Egypt and Singapore.
During his visit, Tan is scheduled to meet with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb, and Head of the Coptic Orthodox Church Pope Tawadros.
Tan’s agenda will also include a visit to Al Azhar University and holding a meeting with members of the Egyptian-Singaporean business council.
Bilateral agreements is also expected to be signed during the visit. They will focus on technical education, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), electronic governance, ports, water desalination, energy and information technology.
Also, a Singaporean logistic company will be inaugurated in the 10th of Ramadan city.
