Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi

On Tuesday, President Sisi met with Head of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish.

Sisi underlined the necessity of working to attract more investments into the Suez Canal zone through easing difficulties to investment there.

The president urged setting up a company for logistics and ship services in Port Said.

For his part, Mamish expounded developments of upgrading the SCzone in cooperation with International Dubai Ports.

He further noted that navigation through the canal has seen a record number of ships transiting the waterway as up to 146 vessels crossed the canal at total revenues of 459.7 million dollars.

Later in the day, Sisi convened with visiting President of the World Jewish Congress Ronald Lauder.

Egypt is keen on maintaining contacts with all segments of the US society to promote joint stances on means of confronting regional challenges, Sisi said.

He added that efforts now being exerted by Egypt to reach political solutions to several crises in the region.

For his part, Lauder hailed the recent positive developments in Egypt which attest to the revival of the national economy.

The two sides took up several regional issues of common concern atop of which came the Middle East peace process.
