President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Wednesday underlined the importance of upgrading vocational education in the coming period.
At a meeting with Minister of Education Tarek Shawky, he added that this approach is meant to groom up students for their future life.
Shawky expounded at the meeting his vision for upgrading the educational system in general in line with international standards.
The minister also explained efforts for setting up Japanese schools in Egypt in a bid to enable the Egyptian students to compete with other students at the international level.
Later in the day, Sisi met with visiting Portuguese Minister of State for Administrative Modernization Graça Fonseca.
Sisi said that Egypt is seeking to benefit from the Portuguese experience in the field of administrative reform.
The president underlined Egypt's eagerness to promote relations with Portugal at all levels.
The president reviewed recent economic and administrative reform measures adopted by the Egyptian government to achieve economic growth.
The visiting minister said her country is looking forward to enhancing relations with Egypt in all fields to serve the best interests of the two sides.
