President of the Supreme Council for Health Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa has paid an inspection visit to the A’Ali Heath Centre to be informed about the implementation of the National Health Information System (i-Seha).
Health Ministry’s Undersecretary Dr. Aysha Buanneq and Assistant Undersecretary for Primary and General Health Dr. Mariam Al-Jalahma, as well as senior officials of the ministry and the Supreme Council for Health and representatives of Indra, the company in charge of i-Seha programme implementation, were present.
Shaikh Mohammed was briefed about the implementation of the system in A’Ali Health Centre, and the procedures in place to provide health care for patients.
He commended the efforts of the centre in implementing the system fully, which, he said, reflected positively on the services enjoyed by patients, calling for the need to finalise the plan to apply it in all heath facilities across the kingdom and involve the patients in assessing it.
iSeha includes system applications that cover all levels of health care services such as the unified Electronic Medical Record (EMR), ePrescription, primary medical health-care, in-patient and out-patient services, emergency case management, radiology and medical scan, Intensive Care Unit and laboratories diagnose utilities.
The implementation framework includes establishing data processing centers, and providing change management support, healthcare solutions and other cutting-edge services to operate the national health system in Bahrain
Through the I-SEHA programme, the Ministry of Health aims to improve the quality and increase the efficiency and speed of services for patients.
The Ministry of Health signed a contract with Indra, a Spanish company leader in implementations of Health Information Systems, to operate I-SEHA programme.
