Cairo - MENA
A new case of bird flu has been confirmed on Tuesday in Qena Governorate, south of Cairo, according to a health ministry statement.
A 13-year-old girl has been quarantined at Qena Fever Hospital after showing the H5N1 virus symptoms, the statement added.
Three other cases were discharged after weeks of treatment in isolation, it said.
The Health Ministry urged citizens dealing with live poultry to rush as soon as possible to hospital if they started to show any influenza symptoms.
It also called on citizens to adopt precautionary measures when handling live poultry, such as covering the mouth, washing hands with soap and stopping taking children to fowl-raising places.
