The population growth rate in Egypt is four times more than that in developed countries, said a state statistics body head on Saturday.
The growth stands now at 2.4 percent, Abu Bakr el Gendy, the Chairman of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, said during a visit to Beheira, north of Cairo.
Gendy said those who are less than 30 years of age are estimated at 62 percent of the total population
