Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab announced Sunday that the government is seeking to overhaul public hospitals and establish new ones within a period of 10 months.
The premier's remarks were made after his meeting with representatives of one of the Dutch companies specialized in the management and construction of hospitals in the presence of health and investment ministers as well as the assistant of housing minister.
During the meeting, Mahlab called for organizing field visits to the Dutch company team to get briefed on the conditions of a number of public hospitals and assess their needs.
He also invited the Dutch experts to take part in Sharm El Sheikh conference, set for March, to lure more Arab and foreign investments to the Egyptian market.
Meanwhile, the premier said the government is also working on a plan to encourage therapeutic tourism through upgrading a number of hospitals at the Egyptian tourist cities.
