The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has donated specialist equipment to the Prosthetics Centre in Yemen’s port city of Aden.
The UAE aid agency’s assistance package includes technical materials needed to create artificial limbs and to help with physiotherapy.
The gesture is part of the ERC's efforts to promote the centre and enable it to discharge its duties that are aimed at providing prosthetics to the victims of the developments in Yemen.
Abdullah Al Qaisi, Chairman of Prostheses and Physiotherapy Centre in Aden, said that the prominent Emirati support in the medical field has notably contributed to improving the medical status, especially for people with special needs.
In his statement, while receiving the technical materials package, Al Qaisi said that the centre has received more than 120 people with disabilities as a result of the current events and the latest developments, and works continuously with the support of the UAE to provide victims with artificial limbs and other prosthetic materials to help them overcome their medical conditions and lead normal lives.
Among those who attended the event were a number of Yemeni officials and ERC staff.
