Health Minister Faeqa Saeed Al Saleh received a preliminary research study of child obesity figures in Bahrain by Dr. Ameena Isa Jawad, in the presence of Assistant Undersecretary for Primary Healthcare, Dr. Manal Al Alawi.

The minister praised the researcher’s efforts, citing the importance of availability of accurate database of actual obesity figures.

The study focused on weight, height, and body mass index (BMI) measurements as well as underweight children reliant upon local, Gulf and international figures.

The minister expressed aspiration to benefit from these research studies for enhancement of the health and therapeutic services provided to all the beneficiaries of the Ministry of Health (MoH)’s services.
