Undersecretary of the Health Ministry in Luxor Nahed Mohamed Ahmed denied on Friday reports on an outbreak of meningitis.
In statements, she asserted that these reports are totally groundless and completely false, urging media to verify its reports before publishing to avoid confusion.
Meningitis is is an acute inflammation of the protective membranes covering the brain and spinal cord. The inflammation may be caused by infection with viruses, bacteria, or other microorganisms, and less commonly by certain drugs.
