Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab visited the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Tuesday accompanied with Health Minister Adel Adawi and President of Cairo University Gaber Nassar.
During the visit, Mahlab said that as of today a plan will be set to develop the institute and that there will be more visits to make sure that the services offered to the citizens are satisfactory.
Mahlab said that the development plan of the National Heart Institute is successful, adding that the same plan will be repeated in the NCI.
The NCI officials explained to Mahlab the most important problems and challenges facing the institute including the funding of developing the southern building which stopped six years ago.
Mahlab gave directives to swiftly start work in the NCI, adding that the governor of the Central Bank of Egypt asserted that different banks will contribute to the NCI development plan.
Mahlab and Nassar promised to solve a number of administrative problems in the NCI.
Mahlab called Cairo governor and security directory to prevent the vendors from selling their goods beside the NCI.
Also, Adawi said that the Health Ministry has 11 centers for curing cancer in Egypt and the services in them will be improved, adding that the cost of cancer treatment is high and the state is working on supporting this file to ease the pains of the patients.
