Real estate tycoon Sergey Polonsky accused of fraud has been sent to psychological and psychiatric forensic examination, spokeswoman for the Russian Interior Ministry Elena Alexeyeva told TASS.
"Today Mr.Polonsky has been sent to a comprehensive psychological and psychiatric forensic examination to evaluate his mental capacity, as well as the presence of attachments that require compulsory medical treatment. The examination will be conducted at the Serbsky Center for Social and Forensic Psychiatry," Elena Alexeyeva said.
Polonsky is accused of large-scale fraud during the construction of the Rublyovo Riviera and the Kutuzov Mile residential complexes. On July 25, 2013, the entrepreneur was put on the international wanted list, and on August 13 a district court in Moscow arrested him in absentia.
The businessman was arrested on May 15 on his own yacht in Cambodia for violating the local migration legislation. Two days later Polonsky was deported to Russia and taken to the Matrosskaya Tishina detention center in Moscow.
