Sejong - Yonhap
South Korea on Tuesday confirmed a case of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in a cow, the first such case among cattle in nearly four years.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, a cow at a farm in Anseong, 77 kilometers south of Seoul, tested positive for the Type O strain of the animal disease that has, as of Monday, forced the country to cull some 26,000 animals, mostly pigs, since the latest outbreak first reported early last month.
