The United Nations and the government of the West African nation of Mali, last night declared Mali Ebola free, as the country has gone for 42 days without reporting a new case.
Ousmane Kone, the country's Health Minister, said in a statement that 42 days of monitoring without a new case being recorded marked the end of the epidemic caused by the Ebola virus in the country.
The Minister added that since December 6th, 2014, and since the recovery of the last Ebola virus patient, no new case had been reported.
