Alama is working on Arab Idol season 2 Beirut - Sleiman Asfahany Lebanese superstar Ragheb Alama says being part of talent show Arab Idol has been a turning point in his career, and he is delighted with how the contest has been a real hit in the Arab world. Speaking after singer Nancy Ajram accepted the offer to join singers Ahlam and Hassan el-Shafei on the judging panel for season two, Alama said "there are talented people out there who deserve a platform in front of these stars." He said that preparations for the second series are "going well" and he is "betting" on the show to do better than season one. "Any television show that enjoys the people’s love is a success because the public is the ultimate judge. If the public loves the show, it has achieved its objectives," he said. Alama added that Arab Idol had "fostered a culture of good voice after a wave of bad voices." The 50-year old said he would like to perform a duet with Ajram because she is "a great singer." He also wished fellow singer Maya Diab the very best, after the release of her latest music video. Alama revealed that his new song, Ma Bahzrsh, is still the most popular song in terms of sales in Lebanon and the Arab world. "It shows the people's trust and affection for me, thank God." The singer is planning to release a new perfume for women later in the year. "After my perfume for men is released, I will release a new perfume for women with the same characteristics; the smell of elegance and beauty." Alam feels being part of Arab Idol has increased his popularity and given him the opportunity to work on several new projects.
