Shaker renounces ‘art’s disobedience’

Shaker renounces ‘art’s disobedience’ Beirut – Suleiman Isfahani Lebanese singer Fadl Shaker has denied rumours concerning a potential candidacy in the upcoming Lebanese parliamentary elections. The singer denied he would stand for a seat in Sidon. In his first public statements since retiring from the public eye, Shaker was surprised by how many people had sought to fabricate information about his alleged breakaway into politics. The claims were “completely baseless,” he confirmed. Speaking exclusively to Arabstoday, the renowned singer said he would not be coming out of retirement. This was his final decision, Shaker said, to “renounce art’s disobedience.” He meanwhile called on all fellow artists to join him. Shaker has announced he will be making guest appearances on the Rotana Gulf and Ressalah satellite channels, his first television interviews since retirement.
