Minister of Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Atti attended a seminar at the French Senate on the water diplomacy in solving the disputes between the Nile Basin states and the repercussions of the climate change.
The seminar tackled the geopolitical and environmental issues faced by the Nile Basin states to solve disputes over water.
In his speech, Abdel Atti asserted the impact of the critical water situation in Egypt on the economic development.
The scarcity of water led Egypt to import 36 billion cubic meters of water, Abdel Atti said.
The climate change does not only affect the water resources but also affects the agriculture, tourism and labor, he added
