Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abul Gheit stressed the necessity of preserving Syrian unity.

“The Syrian territorial integrity is a top priority for all Arab countries”, he said as he received the United Nations (UN) Envoy to Syria Ramzy Ezzeldin Ramzy.

The meeting focused on the current situation in Syria and the UN-led efforts for the resumption of Geneva talks. The two sides stressed the importance for the Syrian opposition to join ranks.
