Cairo security chief Khaled Abdel Aal made on Saturday a surprise tour on Cairo streets to inspect security measures in churches and vital facilities.

The inspection took him to St. Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Abbassiya district, where he met with some visitors coming from Alexandria. The visitors praised the security measures around the Cathedral.

Abdel Aal also inspected security measures in churches in western and northern Cairo.

He directed sappers to continuously comb the surroundings of the churches, in addition to fanning out rapid deployment forces to ensure maximum security levels.
