The Cairo Criminal Court on Tuesday postponed to August 22 the trial of 213 defendants of the dangerous elements of Ansar Beit al Maqdes terrorist group who are facing several charges.
They are involved in 54 terrorist crimes including the murder of police officers and attempt to kill former interior minister Mohamed Ibrahim along with blasts targeting security buildings in several governorates.
Investigations revealed that they received military training in camps of Ezzeddin al Qassam, the military wing of Palestinian Hamas movement.
Investigations also revealed that they planned to target ships passing through the Suez Canal.
