Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi

Egypt's Ambassador to the UAE Wael Al Sayed Mohammed Gad asserted Monday that relations between Egypt and the UAE are strategic and historical as they witnessed significant development.

In statements to WAM news agency, Gad said that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to the UAE highlights the unique relations between both countries, stressing keenness of the Egyptian and UAE leaderships on coordination and discussion about the regional and international issues with common interest.

The relations move along parallel political, economic, security and cultural tracks as the numbers translate what the distinctive relations had achieved especially at the economic level, Gad added.

He pointed out that the UAE is in the first place on the foreign investors list in Egypt, as the UAE investments in Egypt reach 6.2 billion dollars and the volume of trade exchange between the two countries reached 3.3 billion dollars in 2016; 2.4 billion dollars are Egyptian exports and 900 million dollars are UAE exports to Egypt.
