Armenian Ambassador in Cairo Armen Melkonian said Tuesday that Hurghada city is one of the main tourist destinations for Armenians.
This is why a decision was taken to operate a direct flight from Yerevan to Hurghada city, he added.
In statements to MENA on Tuesday, the Armenian ambassador said that he met with Red Sea Governor Ahmed Abdulla to discuss means of boosting cooperation in the tourism and cultural fields.
Discussions tackled also security measures carried out by Egypt for the safety of tourists in Hurghada city, the Armenian diplomat added.
The governor affirmed that Egyptian authorities are exerting all efforts aiming at securing tourists in addition to improving the quality of services provided, the Armenian diplomat said.
