Iraq and Jordan have announced the reopening of Trebil border crossing that remained closed for three years due to the unstable security conditions in Iraq.
In a joint statement on Wednesday, the two governments said the reopening would boost ties between the two sides, especially regarding trade.
The statement added that the two governments will exert great efforts to secure travel for Jordanians and Iraqis through the crossing, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) said from the Iraqi capital.
Trebil, the only land crossing between the two countries, was closed in 2014 when the Daesh terror group took control of Anbar Governorate.
