Minister of Transport Hisham Arafat has stressed the need to rehabilitate and upgrade railway workshops, as well as the efficiency of locomotives.

Arafat, in a meeting with a delegation of Polish company "CEGIELSKI" Tuesday, also stressed the need to secure wanted spare parts.

The meeting took up CEGIELSKI's expertise in manufacturing wagons and locomotives, and whether those can be locally made.

Meanwhile the Polish delegation noted that its upcoming projects in Egypt will be financed through soft funding over 25 years.
