Sudan has asserted that that death of Russia's ambassador in Khartoum Mirgayas Shirinsky was normal.

The assertion came in a press release issued by the Sudanese foreign ministry, offering condolences to the government and people of Russia over the envoy's death.

The statement hailed the ties between Khartoum and Moscow, stressing efforts to promote the relations in all fields.

Shirinsky was found dead at his residence in the Sudanese capital.
