Ahmed el Fadali

Around 7,000 people on Friday took part in a demonstration against Qatar near the G20 summit headquarters in Germany's Hamburg, accusing the Gulf state of supporting terrorism.

Egypt’s Popular Diplomacy Delegation led by Counselor Ahmed el Fadali and a number of Egyptian activists and businesspersons participated in the rally that was organized by the German Organization for Combating Violence and Terrorism.

In statements to MENA, Fadali said the demonstrators were attacked by some "mercenaries" who are loyal to Qatar in an attempt to foil the demo.

However, German police were alert and thwarted the attempts and secured the protesters, he added.

He pointed out that the protesters made some demands, including isolating Qatar from the international community and expanding the scope of the Arab boycott to Doha.
