Cairo - Arab Today
The Arab League called on the international community to ratchet up pressure on Israel to halt its settlement expansion in the occupied Palestinian lands.
In a statement on Thursday to mark the 41st anniversary of Land Day, the AL's General Secretariat urged Israel to stop the enactment of racist laws, citing Israel's issuance of a law to muffle Muslim call to prayers.
It also called on the UN Security Council to press Israel to stop its egregious policy of collective punishment against the Palestinians, the statement added.
It also urged the international community to shoulder its responsibility and take considerable steps to put an end to the Israeli occupation and achieve a just peace based on a two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with Al Quds city as its capital.
