The two-day event focuses on the obstacles hampering peace in the world and the culture of peace in religions.
Vatican Pope Francis II will deliver a speech at the conference on Friday during his official visit to Egypt.
The conference falls within the framework of Tayyeb's strenuous efforts to spread the culture of love, forgiveness and coexistence for humanity to enjoy comprehensive and just peace.
World Churches Council (WCC) Secretary General Olav Fykse Tveit attended the conference's inauguration alongside several key religious figures.
