Russian Deputy Foreign Minister in charge of antiterrorism issues Oleg Syromolotov said Monday the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director John Brennan's recent visit to Moscow was unrelated to the withdrawal of the main part of the Russian Aerospace Force group from Syria, TASS reported.

"CIA chief John Brennan has indeed visited Moscow," he said. "This visit was unrelated to the Russian forces' withdrawal from Syria."

According to Syromolotov, the CIA head talked to his colleagues from Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB). He said that during the visit the sides focused mainly on Russia-US confidence building matters.
