Egypt's Foreign Minister said Friday Egypt always interacts with all efforts exerted to revive the political process in the Middle East and to establish a Palestinian state with Al Quds as its capital.
In statement to MENA, Shoukry hailed close relations between Egypt and France, adding that efforts exerted by the two countries are indispensable to push the peace path.
A Paris meeting witnessed a wide participation at the level of foreign ministers and consensus on supporting the two-state solution, the minister said.
He added that all sides agreed to work on resuming negotiations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides through the Arab initiative as an important element for achieving stability in the region and putting an end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Earlier, the minister said that Egypt is ready to exert utmost efforts to set the stage for activating the Arab peace initiative.
Addressing the international ministerial meeting on the peace process in the Middle East in Paris, Shoukry extended thanks to French President François Hollande and the French government for holding this meeting to debate a real settlement to the Palestinian issue.
Representatives from more than 20 countries, including Egypt, took part in the meeting aimed at reviving the Middle East peace process.
