Egypt launched negotiations in Geneva concerning the 14th ministerial session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) to be held next July in Nairobi.
The session will be held under the rubric "From Decisions to Actions".
Egypt's permanent representative in Geneva Amr Ramadan will preside over the negotiations which will tackle challenges and opportunities concerning boosting trade and development.
The conference will feature ministerial debates, high-level round tables, thematic events, a World Investment Forum, a Global Commodities Forum, a Youth Forum and a Civil Society Forum among other events.
Egypt participated in the founding of the UNCTAD in 1964.
A number of Egyptian ministries and authorities are cooperating with UNCTAD in various fields including developing investment policies, setting electronic trade strategy, green development.
