France's Ambassador to Egypt Stefan Roumtier said Sunday his country is preparing for President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's important and anticipated visit to Paris.
President Sisi is expected to discuss a number of regional and international issues, in addition to boosting bilateral relations and cooperation between both countries in various fields during the visit, the French ambassador explained.
Roumtier made these remarks at a press conference in the French consulate in Alexandria.
He referred to the threat of terrorism which both Egypt and France face, underling the opportunity for both countries to join forces in the fight against terrorism.
With regard to the situation of Rohingya Muslim minority in Myanmar, he described the situation as tragic, urging the international community to exert pressure on the government of Myanmar to halt the persecution of this minority.
On relations between both countries, he praised the cooperation between the French and Egyptian armed forces, noting that the situation in Egypt was now safe and suitable for the return of French tourists to Egypt.
