The General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)

The General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will hold a panel discussion on the Gulf-African strategic partnership in Riyadh on Sunday. 
GCC Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs and Negotiations Dr. Abdulaziz Hamad Aluwaisheg said that the panel discussion will address a number of issues related to the progress of relations between the GCC and Africa, efforts to combat extremism and terrorism, and the foreign interference in internal affairs and its role in stirring up religious and ethnic conflicts. 
The participants will also discuss the existing programs to build a strategic partnership in all fields, and means to supporting cultural, media, social cooperation between the two sides. 
The panel, to be held within the framework of the GCC Forum, brings together experts and specialists from the GCC foreign ministries and the relevant sectors of the GCC General Secretariat of the Council, the Consultative Authority of the GCC Supreme Council, the Intergovernmental Authority for African Development (IGAD) and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), as well as academics and experts specialized in African affairs.
