Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met with his Afghan counterpart Salahuddin Rabbani during his one-day visit to the country, and both sides exchanged views on bilateral relations, a statement from Afghanistan's foreign ministry said here on Sunday.
The meeting focused on enhancing trade and economic cooperation, war on terror and fighting drug trafficking, the statement said, adding that the Iranian foreign minister described terrorism as a threat to the region and emphasized on joint fight against terrorists.
The Iranian top diplomat, according to media reports, had also held meeting with Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah and former president Hamid Karzai during his visit.
