Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is planning to meet on Tuesday with his American and British counterparts, Rex Tillerson and Boris Johnson, EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas here on the sideline of the 72nd session of UNGA, the Russian delegation told reporters.
Lavrov is scheduled to attend a lunch for delegations’ heads at an invitation from UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday, Sputnik news agency reported, quoting a delegation member as saying.
As well, the Russian top diplomat will hold meetings with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and the Hungarian, Somalian and Bolivian foreign ministers.
UN General Assembly meetings are set to start on Tuesday until September 25. It will tackle general policies on high level and will be attended by a number of heads of state, prime ministers and foreign ministers.
On the fringe of UNGA meetings, the UN headquarters will host meetings on specified issues in addition to hundreds of bilateral meetings.
