OIC, Italy Hold Round of Consultations

The first session of bilateral talks between the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and Italy took place at the organization's headquarters in Jeddah.
The two sides exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern and discussed developments in Palestine as well as armed conflicts in the region in addition to the situation of Muslim communities in Europe and counterterrorism efforts.
They also reviewed aspects of bilateral cooperation between the organization and Italy and means of boosting them on all fronts, particularly in the economic, scientific and technological field.
The talks aim to deepen ties between OIC and Italy as the two sides agreed to hold them annually in turns between Jeddah and Rome.
