Moscow - Arab Today
Head of the Egyptian-Russian Institute for Culture and Sciences Hussein al Shafei said Monday Russia will compensate Egypt for the lost satellite with a new one at Moscow's expense.
The Russian Sputnik news agency quoted Shafei as saying that some problems that have occurred to the Egyptian "EgyptSat" that was launched in April 2014 were out of the Egyptian and Russian sides' control.
"The Russian side confirmed its commitment to replacing the satellite, as the problem occurred during the warranty period," he added.
The satellite is likely to be launched within two years, Shafei said.
