Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova

Moscow will continue its efforts in light of Astana process to implement the de-escalation zone in Idlib and save its people from the terrorists, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday.

In a press conference, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the condition in Idlib increases the Russian concern because of increase in Al Nusra front activities after killing seven activists from White Helmets in an armed attack, Russia Today reported.

Zakharova added that the Russian stance towards the White Helmets does not change assuring that killing unarmed people is not acceptable from the humanitarian perspective.

The political and military status in Syria improved, including the deployment of Russian military police units to the agreed areas along the contact line in the de-escalation zones, making it possible for us to expect the humanitarian situation to improve substantially and the bridges of trust in Syrian society to be gradually built, the Russian diplomat assured.
