Egypt's Ambassador to Angola Khaled Abdel Rahman Hassan said Sunday that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi sent a letter to his Angolan counterpart Joao Lourenco congratulating him on winning the presidential elections and assuming office.
President Sisi congratulated Lourenco over holding the elections process recently in Angola, adding that the elections were held in a peaceful and democratic circumstances. A lot of voters turned out to cast their votes in the presidential elections.
Sisi wished success to the newly-appointed Angolan president in carrying out his duties to his country and realizing the aspirations of his people.
The president also underlined Egypt's keenness to develop the historical bilateral relations between both countries, as well as coordinating on various regional and international issues, especially within the framework of the African Union.
In addition, Sisi invited his Angolan counterpart to visit Egypt soon to hold bilateral talks, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
