President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Wednesday asserted that Egypt is keen on enhancing relations with Russia at all levels, especially in the military domain.
At a meeting with visiting Russian Minister of Defense Sergey Shoygu, president Sisi added that the Middle East is confronting different challenges, atop of which comes terrorism, said Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi.
The president noted that this situation requires enhancing joint cooperation to overcome these challenges and restore stability to the region, added the spokesman.
Shoygu conveyed condolences of Russian President Vladimir Putin over the vicitms of Rawda mosque terrorist attack that took place on Friday, the spokesman pointed out.
Shoygu said that his country is siding with Egypt in its fight against terrorism, the spokesman noted.
The two sides took up means of enhancing joint military cooperation, added the spokesman.
