President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Wednesday lauded the efforts exerted to develop the companies and factories affiliated to the Ministry of Military Production in addition to their role in boosting the national economy.
Sisi made the remarks during his meeting with Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed el Assar, which took up the steps and procedures taken to upgrade the companies that belong to the ministry in addition to promoting their participation in implementing national projects and meeting the local market needs.
In this regard, the president underscored the importance of pooling efforts to finalize national projects so that Egypt could achieve the aspired economic development, improve the state institutions’ services and provide job opportunities, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
Assar presented a report to President Sisi on the business activities of the ministry’s companies that achieved a remarkable boom in production and sales for the year 2016/2017. 
The minister also reviewed the ministry’s cooperation with various ministries, governorates and institutions in upgrading water and sanitation stations, producing prepaid smart electricity meters, manufacturing train carriages and medical instruments as well as in recycling.
