Spanish Ambassador in Cairo Arturo Avello on Sunday hailed his country's deeply-rooted relations with Egypt.

In statements to MENA, the ambassador said distinguished relations are binding the two countries, especially at the political levels.

He added that his country seeks to boost economic cooperation with Egypt.

The ambassador was taking part in an event organized by the Consulate General of Spain in Alexandria.

He said Spain is implementing a number of high-tech projects in Egypt aiming to support economic cooperation, including desalination and power generation.
