Turkish coast guard seized last night 60 illegal immigrants off the coast of Izmir, west of the country, while trying to cross into Greece through the Aegean Sea.
According to Turkish security sources, the Coast Guard Command in Izmir spotted an illegal immigration attempt from Cheshmeh town towards the Greek islands on board an inflatable boat.
The Command's teams carried out an operation in the area and seized 60 people including children and women who were preparing to travel to Europe via the Aegean Sea.
