Palestinian chief negotiator and secretary general of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Saeb Erekat has called on the US administration and international community to focus on the two-state solution on the 1967 borders with compelling the Israeli government to stop settlement activities.
Erekat's statements came in separate meetings with European Union's Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process Fernando Gentilini and the peace envoys of Sweden and Switzerland, in addition to US consul Donald Blome.
The Palestinian top diplomat said the key to peace, security, stability and defeat of terrorism starts from ending the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories with establishing a Palestinian state with Al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem) as its capital in line with the international legitimacy resolutions.
